What an amazing week. Well worth the trek up from Lancashire. The horses really enjoyed their hols as much as we did. I have never met such lovely friendly people. Roll on next year. WE WILL BE BACK !!!!

If that digitalpic link doesn't paste properly - the long way is www.digitalpic.net then click on the 'view your pictures' in the bottom orange banner then click on 'common ridings'

I would just like to say thank you for a fantastic rideout last Sunday ( Morebattle ) - I know there must have been a lot of effort and hard work to make it one of the best rideouts I have attended. Thank you and here's to the rest of the festival. Much appreciated.

Congratulations to the Callant and best wishes for a successful, safe Festival - Hope the weather is kind to you for all your rideouts. My brother and I once cycled to Redeswire from Ancrum and back home again. We also used to cycle to Lanton, Ancrum and Morebattle for the rideouts there!

Great to find this site. Interested to see one of your Committee men is Jim Tunnah - I've found I've got Tunnahs from Berwickshire in my ancestry and wonder if Jim is related???!!!
I grew up at Harriestfield near Ancrum and attended the Grammar School for four years, and once danced the reel with the Callant at the Ancrum rideout many years ago! Can't remember if it was Jim Millar or Tommy Spence who was Callant that year! Went to school with both of them!
