About Me
I lived at Harrietsfield near Ancrum between 1949 and 1962. I attended JGS from 1949 - 1953 then Hawick High for a year before starting my first job at George Hogg & Sons Ltd which I worked for eight years before emigrating to Australia in 1962. I have a brother Donald who still lives at Harrietsfield. I have one son but six stepchildren and 31 grandchildren, and we're losing count of the great grandchildren. Since acquiring a computer I have been able to keep in touch with family and friends in Scotland but so far, only one person I went to school with in Jedburgh! I think most of them must have moved!! |

About Me
I'm Charlie and I'm the USA representative of The Borderers, a living history group operating from Old Buittle fortress, near Dumfries, Scotland. I've been married for 27 years and have one son. I work for General Motors and have one year before my retirement. I was very interested in my Scottish heritage and through DNA research, I found my family originated with Walter Ker of Cessford. I later contacted the historian of the Borderers group. Through constant research and his instruction, I have began informing my fellow "Scotch-Irish" Americans where we came from and who we came from by setting up a display at regional Scottish and Celtic festivals. |
