About Me

I lived at Harrietsfield near Ancrum between 1949 and 1962.   I attended JGS from 1949 - 1953 then Hawick High for a year before starting my first job at George Hogg & Sons Ltd which I worked for eight years before emigrating to Australia in 1962.

I have a brother Donald who still lives at Harrietsfield.   I have one son but six stepchildren and 31 grandchildren, and we're losing count of the great grandchildren.   Since acquiring a computer I have been able to keep in touch with family and friends in Scotland but so far, only one person I went to school with in Jedburgh!   I think most of them must have moved!!

About Me

Born and bred to Bill and Jenny Dove in 1950.  Brother Peter.  Dad was member of Jedforest Intrumental Band as long as I can remember - huge part of the Dove's life. Robertsons and Rennilsons x

If anyone remembers Redeswire when Harry Wright was Callant - I was the wee 16 year old with the red boots on and have to thank George Millar for taking care of me that day!

I now live and have lived for 30 years in Westhill with husband Bill.  Son David with wife Julie and my gorgeous grandson James live nearby. My daughter lives In Bermuda with partner Sean.

Still keep in touch with fellow Jedites, Eleanor, Avril, Janis, Ann, Mag G, E, K, Eileen (and Shelia) - means a lot :).  Bet we are the only group of friends that know all the words to the Grammar School Song - challenge!

And just for the record my husband has a cine film of Jedforest beating Hawick at Jed Sevens - someone tell me the year?!

About Me

I'm a freelance composer and sound artist, originally from Aberdeen, but living now in Jedburgh. I've had an interest in the Borders Common Riding festivals for around ten years now, carrying out sound recordings and researching the history and background to the events. I'm fortunate to have recently been drafted (pressganged?) on to the festival committee. Now that I'm 'embedded' I look forward to contributing to this year's and to future festivals as well as to having the opportunity to document these wonderful events in sound.

About Me

South African of Anglo-Scottish ancestry. My family came from the Borders many generations ago. My last visit to Jedburgh and Kelso was in October 2010. Very sorry to have missed the 2011 Callant's Festival, but I'll be there in 2012

I work in the Middle East and long for Mr Learmonth's delicacies of the porcine variety ;-)

Regards,

Lance
